Optional attachment to portable dot marker

The portable dot marker is a machine often used for applying marking to hard materials. But how flexible is such a dot marker in fact when it comes to the attachment? Frank Van Dyck, a Sales Engineer at Automator, explains the options.

Flexibility of portable dot marker
A major advantage of the portable dot marker is that you can use it anywhere. The machine is handy and runs off a battery, so you can work wherever and whenever you want. A frequently asked question: Can the marker attachment be adjusted to my object to be marked?
“A logical question”, thinks Frank. “Flexibility in particular is an important point when choosing a portable dot marker. The fact that the question of how much flexibility the attachment actually offers comes up is quite understandable. There are many possibilities if we look at the attachments.”

Function of the attachment
The portable dot marker’s attachment ensures that the machine stays in its proper place during marking. You need a different grip for a round tube from that for a flat plate.
“There are three different types of attachment available that are suitable for about 90% of the requested applications. You can choose between a large attachment, an adjustable attachment and a magnetic attachment,” explains Frank.

Customisation
But what if the available attachments are not suitable for my application, you might ask. “Almost anything is possible!”, Frank knows from experience. “If one of the three attachments is not suitable for the application, then we will have a look at the requirements. Then we will go to the drawing board and design the attachment that is needed. Then such an attachment is custom-made. I’ve seen a big number of great customised solutions created that precisely fit a specific application.”
